2019 Talent Development: Look Development Trainee
The Apprentice Program

Join us for an opportunity to be a part of Walt Disney Animation Studios and experience the art of animation. The Talent Development Apprentice Program is an immersive experience available for recent college graduates within three years of graduation for a 3, 6, or 12 month paid position. Under the guidance of a Disney Mentor, the Talent Development Apprentice Program offers a unique opportunity to hone and understand skills while engaging in a production environment.

The Apprentice Program is based in Burbank, California, and begins April 2019. The deadline for applications is March 3, 2019 at 11:59PM PST.

The Look Development Apprentice

Look Development Trainees work with the Look Development Artists to create the materials, textures, and grooms that define the look of 3D characters and environments.  Look development artists should have a great eye and exceptional critical thinking skills with regards to image deconstruction.

Reels/portfolios/demonstrated skills should include:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired
  • Exceptional artistic skills in CG/traditional artwork
  • Ability to interpret and execute Art Direction
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Proficiency with Maya and Photoshop, or equivalent 3D and 2D tools
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment a plus
  • Understanding of shaders and GI Rendering a plus
